Same-day service available
Broken spring? Door off its track? We carry the parts that cover most calls on the truck, so a repair in West Palm Beach or Boca Raton — or anywhere in Broward — is usually one visit, not three.
A garage door is the largest moving object in most homes, and when it quits it is rarely convenient: a car trapped inside on a workday morning, or a door that will not close at ten at night with the house wide open. That is the job we built this company around.
Springs, tracks and cables account for the large majority of the doors we fix. Every one of them is same-day work for a stocked truck, and every one is quoted before we start.
You heard a bang from the garage and now the door is far too heavy to lift, or the opener strains and gives up. That is a spring. Do not force it — a door with one broken spring is badly out of balance and can drop.
Something clipped the door, or a cable let go, and now it is sitting crooked in the opening. Leave it where it is and keep people out from under it. We free it, inspect the cables and drums, and re-set the door properly.
Grinding, screeching or a door that shudders on the way up is almost never a replacement job. It is usually dry or worn rollers, loose hardware or failed bearings — and new nylon rollers quiet most doors right down.
Springs are the part of a garage door most likely to be done badly, and the part where doing it badly is most dangerous. This is our standard, every time.
On a two-spring door, both springs were installed the same day, wound to the same tension, and have opened the door the same number of times. When one lets go, the other is not far behind — it has done identical work for identical years.
Replacing only the broken one buys you a few months and a second service call. Worse, it leaves the door running out of balance in the meantime, and an unbalanced door is what kills openers. Unless the second spring is genuinely newer, we will recommend doing the pair.
Garage doors vary enormously in weight — an insulated double can weigh three times what a light single does. The spring has to be matched to that weight by wire size, inside diameter and length, or the door will never balance properly.
A spring that is close but not correct makes the opener carry weight it was never built to lift, and openers fail fast under that load. We size the spring to the door, then prove it: lift the door halfway by hand and let go. A correctly sprung door stays exactly where you left it.
The springs are rarely the only part that has aged. Cables, drums, bearings, rollers, hinges and the bottom brackets almost always went on the same day and have taken the same number of cycles, so a broken spring is often a symptom rather than the whole problem.
That is why a full inspection of the hardware and moving parts comes with every spring repair, at no charge. We would rather point out a frayed cable while we are standing under the door than come back for it in six weeks.
It is the first thing almost every caller asks, and the honest answer is that it depends on your door. To give you a real number rather than a range you cannot plan around, we need to know the size and weight of the door and which type of spring it uses — torsion, mounted on a bar above the opening, or extension, running along the tracks at the sides.
We stock a wide range of spring sizes to cover the doors across Palm Beach and Broward County, because the correct spring for your door is a measurement, not a guess. A technician takes that measurement on site and gives you the exact price before any work begins — and you are never committed to going ahead.
Call us and we will get someone out to look at it.
Look above the door. A single spring on a steel bar running across the header is a torsion spring. Two long springs stretched along the horizontal tracks, one on each side, are extension springs. Either way, do not try to measure it yourself — both types are under load even when the door is closed.
A number given sight-unseen is either padded to cover the worst case or it changes when the technician arrives. Neither is useful to you. We would rather measure and tell you once.
Garage door springs hold enough stored energy to break bones, and an off-track door does not move the way you expect. None of it takes more than a minute — it just keeps the situation from getting worse before a technician arrives.
If the door is heavy, crooked, or the cable is hanging loose, stop. Unplug the opener so nobody hits the button, keep cars and people out from under the door, and leave it exactly where it is.
Only if the door is fully closed. Pulling the red release on a partly-open door with a broken spring lets it fall. If in doubt, leave it and call us.
No mystery, and nothing starts until you have agreed to it.
If we are running late, you get a call before the window closes.
Springs, cables, drums, rollers, tracks and the opener — because the part that broke is often not the only part worn.
Quoted on the spot, before a wrench comes out. You are never committed to going ahead.
We run the door, check the safety reverse, and show you what changed before we leave.
Mostly taps and two typed fields. It goes straight to our office, and a technician calls you back — usually the same day.
